Somehow, we have avoided this latest snow and so
as of today, there is very little snow on the ground
here on Block Island but I worked on this drawing
using a photo taken in the last snowstorm. I know
spring can't be too far off but I thought I would do
one more wintry sketch. This home sits on Corn
Neck Road with the ocean view out the back windows!

During winter months, sightings of whales spouting and seals
basking in the sun are common from this cottage located on the
Southeast side of Block Island.

The A&A Tea Room is located on a sharp corner
on West Side Road, Block Island. It overlooks the
Tea Room pond across the street.

This nicely proportioned home sits near the entrance
of one of the greenway trails on Block Island. I pass
it each time I take the trail which opens out at Fresh Pond.
It is decked out for Christmas.

This view is heading north
from Spring Street on Block Island and
the title is "December Day".

This 8 x 10 painting of the Sullivan House was a long drawn out (by my own doing) commissioned work.
It will be a wedding gift for a couple who had their reception at this incredible spot.

Kati and Dave are getting married later this month at Glen Manor House in
Middletown, RI. This is a view looking through the portico onto the water.

This view of Lewis Farm was for a wedding for friends who married at this locale...beautiful spot!

This is the Mount Washington Hotel in New Hampshire, drawn for a thank you card for someone after the wedding was held at the venue last month....

This house is located on the corner of Connecticut Avenue and Ocean Avenue. The forsythia was incredibly brilliant in the afternoon sunshine on the early April day. After several days of rain the grass is greener by the minute.

Spring is here with tiny buds on an apple tree while in the foreground daffodils are opening. This house is perched above High Street and the drawing was completed for the Block Island Times column: "Guess This House".

This wonderful building is located on Ocean Avenue on Block Island. The gingerbread detail is hard to convey in such a small drawing. The pale yellow of the building is a gentle color in winter and a great backdrop in summer when the roses are blooming too.

I love small cottages and love drawing them. This commissioned drawing was just completed and I used photos where most of the area around the house was covered in snow. I imagined how it will look in late spring which doesn't seem to far away now.
