April 7, 2022

The year 2022 began with high hopes of getting back to my "drawing board" and creating lots of new artwork but unfortunately other challenges and obligations needed tending and the drawings went on the back burner for 2022.  It's now spring and I am running out of time before the gallery gets busier and becomes more time consuming.  This sketch is a commissioned one for a friend who patiently waited over a year but  I finally completed it. Hopefully I will have a few additional post for 2022 before the summer arrives...fingers crossed.

This home is situated on the beach off Corn Neck Road and the angle of this sketch  done in 2021 is from the beach looking west.

"Intertwined" is a sepia ink sketch with watercolor...this tree and stone wall are completely intertwined.

Another sepia ink and watercolor sketch from the "missing" year 2021.....this one titled "Winter Shadows".

"Walking The Dog" is a sepia ink and watercolor sketch of a winter moment from 2021...a blur of a year but a year filled with sketches many of which I am now finally posting.

Hopefully "back at it"...meaning back to posting images here.

This home previously owned by the Agricola's and before that to Jack and Esta Gray sits on Mohegan  Bluffs overlooking the sea.

I am trying to do a sketch at least a couple times a week and the inspiration for this drawing was the winter shadows across this older building on Dodge Street in town. The building has recently changed ownership and before it becomes "boutiqued" I wanted to catch it in it's older state.

This small barn appears to have been converted to a residence as so many "barns" are these days. It was recently sold and this drawing was a commissioned sketch for the new owners here on Block Island.

The prompt for this sketch was #injured and this was a dolphin that had washed ashore injured but perished.

This drawing was for the prompt #RIDE  for #INKTOBER 2019 and from a  photo from this past summer with Julia and Joanna  my two granddaughters riding the waves on their boogyboards.

This drawing inspired by #inktober was for the 27th day of October...yes I'm running a bit behind but life gets in the way.  The prompt for this was #coat and so I love chairs and they sometimes become good places to hang a coat.
