This is my submission for the 26th day of October aka #inktober2019 and the prompt was #dark.  I personally love nocturnal drawings.

This drawing is for October 25th and the prompt was #tasty and so this restaurant serves tasty food here on Block island.  I have missed a few days but trying to keep up a drawing (almost daily) for #inktober2019

October 25, 2019

Todays sketch for #inktober was this island view of the Cushman house which sits on the beach near Mansion Beach. The prompt for this was #dizzy and I felt the clouds were just so.
I am still trying to catch up with the #inktober wave on Instagram.  I have admittedly skipped a few and missed the first several days.  The prompt for this day October 23rd was #ancient and so I chose this spot on the island where I live which had some history.

October 23, 2019

This sketch was done at the Historical Island Cemetery and what an amazing view from there! The prompt was #ghost and I imagine there must be many.

This was a drawing I did for the prompt #treasure for #inktober2019.  It's from a photo taken mid July of all six grandchildren playing in the backyard.

This is the drawing I did for the #inktober prompt #tread and it's a view of the steps  leading down to the beach on the corner of Water Street and Dodge Street in Old Harbor Block Island.

#Inktober is becoming more challenging for me and I did skip several days...the prompts/subjects and lack of time was what got me behind. But yesterday the prompt was #sling and so this is what I came up with which is from a photo taken at Lewis Farm on Block Island with a lot of artistic license.

Todays #inktober sketch was with the prompt #legend and I found it difficult because when I first looked up the definition of legend I didn't notice it was also something "inscribed" but as soon as I read that I knew I had a lot of subjects to "draw" from!!

The subject for the drawing could have been one of many locales on the island but this little shack is right up the road from where I live.  It's the 14th drawing for #inktober and the prompt was #overgrown.
This is the thirteenth day of #inktober and the "prompt" for this sketch was #ash hence the wood stove!

October 16, 2019

This sketch is the 12th day of #inktober and my 8th drawing and I am finally feeling like I can actually move my drawing pen around and convey "something" in my heart or at least what I am prompted to!!  The 12th prompt was #dragon and where oh where do I find a dragon (warning I have little sense of humor and am also very literal).  So as I pondered d r a g o n...there right in front of me was a treasured mug from deruta italy with a most elegant DRAGON hand painted on it.

October 11, 2019

Today for the 11th day of October (#inktober) the prompt is #SNOW and so I searched throughout my photos (there were many) of snowy scenes to use a s a subject for my sketch. This scene caught my eye of a tiny outbuilding along Lakeside Drive, Block Island with it's almost disappearing basketball hoop.  The snow has melted on the asphalt street but covering the rocks and grass.
This is drawing number 10 for #inktober2019 where there is a prompt or subject that pen and ink artists try to adhere to.  My first several weren't on the subject but the last several have been. This little barn on West Side Road on Block Island was my inspiration for the prompt #PATTERN.

Here are two versions of the same drawing for #INKTOBER, a month of posts - a drawing each day with a prompt or subject to use (or not) for the drawing.  I posted the black and white version for this and colored it after.  This is the ninth day of posts (my personal 6th) and I am feeling pressured but still enjoying it for the creativity. This is #SWING #INKTOBER2019.
This drawing is for day 8 of #inktober  in my attempt to do a drawing a day for this #inktober project.  There are daily "prompts" which I may choose to ignore as it sometimes feels too confining and restricting.  The drawing for today does use the #inktober prompt of #FRAIL.  It's a familiar tree along Corn Neck Road on Block Island.

October 7, 2019

This is the 4th drawing completed for the #inktober2019 event.  I began a few days late but trying to do a daily sketch for the entire month..."trying". Fingers crossed.

October 6, 2019

This drawing which is the 3rd drawing for "INKTOBER" where artists work in pen and ink and do a daily sketch/drawing throughout the entire month of October.  And yes, I am a few days behind but a drawing every day is a whole lot of time and discipline for me!! This is a home right on High Street on Block Island and has a wild and wonderful sculpture in it's front yard by well known artist Peruko Ccopocatty.

October 5, 2019

Near the four way, on Dodge Street tucked back is a sweet little building with two fine businesses and a lot of plantings/vegetation surrounding it.  It's a pleasure to walk by and was my inspiration for #inktober2019 drawing number 2.  Yes, Im a bit behind but I am going to try to keep this up through the Month.
Having followed several artists in years past as they post drawings daily in pen and ink through the month of October I was inspired to (try) to do the same this year.  This quick sketch of the Block Island Fishworks is my first attempt (I missed 10/1,10/2, and 10/3) and hopefully I can keep it up! Fingers crossed!!
