This latest drawing is of a cottage on High Street. There were three ducks that had wandered from their farm home up the road. They found something to their liking in this yard and kept a concentration even though I was close by taking pictures. I can see bits of green making it's way...Spring isn't too far off!

Somehow, we have avoided this latest snow and so as of today, there is very little snow on the ground here on Block Island but I worked on this drawing using a photo taken in the last snowstorm. I know spring can't be too far off but I thought I would do one more wintry sketch. This home sits on Corn Neck Road with the ocean view out the back windows!
Jessie Edwards is an artist living on Block Island. She owns and runs the Jessie Edwards Studio, a gallery which opened 26 years ago and specializes in regional fine art. During the off season she spends her time painting, drawing and catching up with aspects of her life which she has put aside during the hectic summer season. She plans to use this blog as a tool to encourage more self discipline and creativity by posting new work in it's various states of completion and as finished drawings and paintings for sale or just plain viewing.
