It's almost April and I love the way the forsythia is almost blindingly bright when it catches the sun. This home sits atop a hill at the corner of Center Road and Beach Avenue.
Here is another view of the beautiful boulders and beaches in the British Virgin Islands. The water is really and truly this color!!
This is a home at the top of High Street on Block Island. The crocus' are blooming,
daffodils are getting ready to open and Spring already seems to be in the air here.
Looking across Guavaberry Spring Bay on Virgin Gorda, the boulders are captivating and you can make out two blue sling chairs at the bottom of the boulders tucked into the shade of the mid day sun and heat.
This drawing...brown ink with watercolor, was done while on vacation on a small island in the British Virgin Islands. We were lucky enough to spend 2 weeks there and I will be posting some of the drawings I did while there.
Just off the corner on Old Town Road, Block Island sits this old island home. In summer it has quite a bit of privacy from the thick hedge and shrubs but is almost naked and exposed in mid-winter.
This old island farmhouse with additions and modernizing sits off Old Mill Road.
It was a commissioned drawing for the owner and I had to include the faithful dog...I said I don't "do" dogs but I guess I did! I also hand colored the original but forgot to make a record of it with watercolor.
Today's completed commissioned drawing is of "The Plains" with it's expansive view of field and ocean it is breathtaking. The clouds are incredible this time of year on Block Island.
This bit of property has just recently been sold and the new owners have begun clearing
which lets the viewer catch a glimpse of a pond beyond a newly exposed stone wall.
This house is on a windy road off Beacon Hill Road on Block Island. It was a commissioned gift for the family that built it and resides there as a Christmas surprise from a friend. I meant to post it several weeks ago but it got lost in the holiday shuffle so here it is now.
The shadows are amazing right now here on Block Island. They are long and cold as is the temperature. The sky is such an intense blue too. This small cottage has recently had a lot of work to preserve it and I have always loved it as I bicycle or drive by it on Corn Neck Road.
This home sits up high on Amy Dodge Lane, Block Island.
It was a commissioned Christmas surprise from a wife to
her husband...shhhhhhh it's a surprise and I had to work
on it in stealth!
All dressed up for Christmas, this little cottage sits on Beach Avenue, Block Island~
a few minutes walking distance from the beach.
This is a rather new but not huge scale home on Block Island off High Street.
It is hidden from the main road by an ancient privet hedge.
Wild Turkeys are clustered at the foot of this property....the Tom has about eight or nine hens and no visible competition that I could see.
