Today's completed commissioned drawing is of "The Plains" with it's expansive view of field and ocean it is breathtaking. The clouds are incredible this time of year on Block Island.

This bit of property has just recently been sold and the new owners have begun clearing which lets the viewer catch a glimpse of a pond beyond a newly exposed stone wall.

This house is on a windy road off Beacon Hill Road on Block Island. It was a commissioned gift for the family that built it and resides there as a Christmas surprise from a friend. I meant to post it several weeks ago but it got lost in the holiday shuffle so here it is now.
The shadows are amazing right now here onBlock Island. They are long and cold as is the temperature. The sky is such an intense blue too. This small cottage has recently had a lot of work to preserve it and I have always loved it as I bicycle or drive by it on Corn Neck Road.
Jessie Edwards is an artist living on Block Island. She owns and runs the Jessie Edwards Studio, a gallery which opened 26 years ago and specializes in regional fine art. During the off season she spends her time painting, drawing and catching up with aspects of her life which she has put aside during the hectic summer season. She plans to use this blog as a tool to encourage more self discipline and creativity by posting new work in it's various states of completion and as finished drawings and paintings for sale or just plain viewing.
